The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day shipping and logistics operations, developing strategies to improve workflow efficiency, and leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipping, logistics, and supply chain management, with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily shipping operations, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all local, international, and company regulations related to shipping and logistics.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and implement improvements.
- Manage and coordinate relationships with vendors, carriers, and clients to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Develop and enforce operational policies, standards, and procedures.
- Analyze shipping data and operational reports to identify trends and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team to ensure a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to align operations with company goals and customer needs.
- Handle escalations and resolve operational challenges in a timely manner.
- Drive the adoption of technology and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations, with at least 1 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and documentation, including customs procedures.
- Proficiency in logistics software and CRM systems.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve operations.
- A proven track record of meeting operational targets and delivering cost-effective solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience with intermodal, drayage, and freight forwarding processes.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in shipping technology and sustainable logistics practices.
