Splicer / OFC Technician is responsible for managing OFC is operations round the clock on the road under his responsibility and is directly reported to the OFC Supervisor for it, while adhering to the policies and following the SOPs laid down of the organization. OFC Tech / Splicer assists the OFC Supervisor in ensuring that all the responsibilities of OFC are being performed smoothly and in the most proficient manner.
- To ensure that the deployment, tracing & troubleshooting of OFC are timely.
- Responsible for quick response if any OFC link goes down.
- To ensure safety before performing activity on the fast track.
- To ensure that the OFC health is according to standards.
- Remove OFC fault properly.
- Resolve, repair, and install fiber optics systems and ensure that they work properly.
- Examine and replace faulty and old fiber optic cables and organize scheduled maintenance routines.
- Take care of fiber splicing and rectify fiber optic problem areas.
- Develop sensor indicators and conduct timely inspections to make sure that a faulty fiber optic system does not destabilize its performance.
- Formulate and maintain system records and system designs.
- ODTR Testing demand and maintain OFC Spares.
