• Supervise and support a team of RCM staff, including billers, coders, and collectors.
  • Oversee accurate and timely submission of insurance claims for behavioral health services (inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state billing regulations (e.g., CMS, Medicaid, commercial payers).
  • Review and resolve complex claim denials, rejections, and authorization issues.
  • Monitor KPIs such as AR days, denial rates, and clean claim rates; develop action plans to address underperformance.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure documentation supports accurate billing.
  • Train and mentor staff on behavioral health coding, payer policies, and system updates.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance in billing and coding.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in revenue cycle management.
  • Utilize EHR and billing systems to manage workflows and generate financial and operational reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4–5 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Prior experience in behavioral health strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and payer requirements specific to behavioral health services (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurers).
