The Head of Finance at company is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial activities, strategies, and operations to support the organization's financial health and long-term growth objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance plays a critical role in providing strategic financial guidance, managing financial risks, and driving financial performance.

Responsibilities

 

Financial Planning and Analysis:

 

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Conduct financial analysis, performance monitoring, and variance analysis to assess the organization's financial performance and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and drive business growth.

 

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and dissemination of financial reports, statements, and disclosures in compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage the external audit process, liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and support to facilitate the audit process and ensure compliance.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and treasury operations to optimize cash resources, maximize investment returns, and minimize financing costs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk, and other financial exposures effectively, hedging where appropriate to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor banking relationships, negotiate financing arrangements, and manage relationships with financial institutions to support the organization's funding needs and strategic objectives.

Financial Strategy and Risk Management:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies and initiatives to support the organization's growth objectives, capital allocation priorities, and shareholder value creation.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk, anddevelop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to protect the organization's financial interests.
  • Conduct scenario analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to assess the potential impact of economic, market, and business disruptions on the organization's financial performance and resilience.

Tax Planning and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies and initiatives to optimize the organization's tax position, minimize tax liabilities, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, assessing their impact on the organization's tax position and financial reporting requirements, and implementing appropriate adjustments or strategies to address them.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, external tax advisors, and other stakeholders to resolve tax-related issues, audits, and inquiries in a timely and satisfactory manner.

  • Achieve financial targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue growth, profitability, and return on investment (ROI), demonstrating effective financial management and resource allocation.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial reports, statements, and disclosures in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

Cash Flow Management and Liquidity:

  • Maintain adequate cash reserves and liquidity to meet the organization's operating and investment needs, optimizing cash flow management and treasury operations.

Financial Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks effectively, implementing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to protect the organization's financial interests.

Tax Planning and Compliance:

  • Minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, implementing tax strategies and initiatives to optimize the organization's tax position.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master's degree orprofessional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations, with a proven track record of strategic financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis tools, as well as accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable strategies and initiatives that drive business growth and value creation.
