We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Workshop Manager to oversee our mechanical workshop operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the workshop team, ensuring efficient and effective maintenance and repair of equipment, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workshop Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mechanical workshop, including managing workflow, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources.

2. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of mechanics, technicians, and apprentices, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure high-quality workmanship and efficient workflow.

3. Maintenance and Repair: Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly maintained and repaired, including scheduling regular maintenance, performing repairs, and ordering replacement parts.

4. Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards in the workshop, including ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and that all safety protocols are followed.

5. Safety Management: Ensure that the workshop is a safe working environment, including managing safety risks, conducting safety audits, and implementing safety procedures.

6. Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the workshop budget, including controlling costs, managing inventory, and ensuring that all purchases are made in accordance with company policies.

7. Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including employees, management, and customers, to ensure that all parties are informed and up-to-date on workshop operations.

8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the workshop, including implementing new procedures, improving workflows, and reducing costs.

Requirements

1. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

2. Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a mechanical workshop environment, including experience in a supervisory or management role.

3. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience in workshop management, team leadership, and quality control.

4. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and regulations, including experience with workshop management software and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Certifications: Certifications in mechanical engineering, workshop management, or a related field are desirable.

2. Advanced degree: An advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, is advantageous.

3. Industry experience: Experience in a similar industry or sector, such as manufacturing, construction, or mining, is preferred.
