Senior Software Engineer - Python

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join the Experian Financial Service & Data (FSD) Engineering team based in Hyderabad. This hybrid role requires working from the office two days a week and reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager or Director. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, coding, and supporting Experian’s decisioning and data solutions. The focus will be on delivering high-quality, scalable Python-based applications that align with business objectives and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
Develop robust and scalable Python solutions that meet project requirements and business needs. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and clarify project goals and deliverables. Participate actively in peer code and design reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices. Follow platform architecture guidelines, security protocols, and adhere to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes. Ensure code quality, security, and performance through thorough testing and validation. Continuously review and optimize existing codebases to enhance efficiency and maintainability. Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and fostering professional growth within the team. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation. Take full ownership of projects from initial conception through to successful delivery. Attend sprint reviews, provide timely project updates to the Technical Program Manager (TPM), and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong emphasis on Python development. At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with Python frameworks and libraries; Python certification is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in designing, coding, and maintaining scalable Python applications. Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, KMS, RDS, and encryption technologies. Proficiency in infrastructure as code and containerization tools such as Terraform, Docker, BitBucket, and Git-based workflows. Experience working with API Gateway and familiarity with JSON and XML data interfaces. Skilled in software performance testing, tuning, and debugging to ensure optimal application performance. Experience handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) securely and in compliance with relevant standards. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins. Ability to document system design and data flows using tools such as Lucidchart or equivalent. Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively across diverse teams and conveying technical updates clearly.
