API Developer

We are seeking an experienced API developer to help us convert the database access of our legacy .NET software system for the Windows environment to RESTful APIs. Our in-house front-end developer will be building a web-based application using JavaScript, and your role will be to create the necessary APIs to enable seamless communication between the front-end and our existing database.

Responsibilities:

Analyze the existing .NET software system and understand its database structure and calls.
Design and develop RESTful APIs that facilitate reading and writing from/to the database for the new JavaScript front-end.
Collaborate closely with our in-house front-end developer to ensure seamless integration of the APIs with the new web-based application.
Implement proper authentication and security measures to protect the APIs.
Document the API endpoints and provide clear instructions for usage.
Troubleshoot and resolve any API-related issues during the development and integration process.

Requirements:

Proven experience in API development, with a focus on RESTful APIs.
Strong knowledge of .NET framework and C# programming language.
Familiarity with JavaScript and web-based applications.
Experience working with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server or similar.
Strong understanding of API authentication and security best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Bonus: Experience with converting legacy software systems to modern web-based applications.
