Head of Business Intelligence Unit

The Head of the Business Intelligence (BI) Unit is responsible for leading the banks data strategy, analytics initiatives, and business intelligence solutions to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. This role oversees the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of data to provide actionable insights across business units. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a clear understanding of banking operations and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership.
Define and implement the banks BI and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Champion a data-driven culture across the bank and promote the use of BI tools for informed decision-making.
Team & Project Management.
Lead and mentor a team of BI analysts, data engineers, and data scientists.
Oversee the development and delivery of dashboards, reports, and analytical models.
Manage BI projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Stakeholder Engagement.
Work closely with senior management, department heads, and operational teams to understand data needs and develop tailored BI solutions.
Present insights and recommendations to executives in a clear, actionable format. Data Governance & Quality.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements.
Collaborate with IT and compliance to define data governance frameworks and data security protocols. Technology Oversight.
Evaluate and select BI tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAS, etc.)
Ensure the integration of BI solutions with core banking systems and data warehouses.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business performance.
Provide predictive and prescriptive analytics to support risk management, customer segmentation, product development, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 810 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data management within the banking or financial services sector.
At least 35 years in a leadership or managerial role
Strong knowledge of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAS, SQL, Python, R).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
