The Head of the Business Intelligence (BI) Unit is responsible for leading the banks data strategy, analytics initiatives, and business intelligence solutions to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. This role oversees the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of data to provide actionable insights across business units. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a clear understanding of banking operations and regulatory requirements


Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership.
  • Define and implement the banks BI and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals.

  • Champion a data-driven culture across the bank and promote the use of BI tools for informed decision-making.

  • Team & Project Management.

  • Lead and mentor a team of BI analysts, data engineers, and data scientists.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of dashboards, reports, and analytical models.

  • Manage BI projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.

  • Stakeholder Engagement.

  • Work closely with senior management, department heads, and operational teams to understand data needs and develop tailored BI solutions.
  • Present insights and recommendations to executives in a clear, actionable format. Data Governance & Quality.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT and compliance to define data governance frameworks and data security protocols. Technology Oversight.
  • Evaluate and select BI tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAS, etc.)
  • Ensure the integration of BI solutions with core banking systems and data warehouses.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business performance.
  • Provide predictive and prescriptive analytics to support risk management, customer segmentation, product development, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 810 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data management within the banking or financial services sector.
  • At least 35 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAS, SQL, Python, R).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
