Machine Operator

You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring injection moulding machines to produce plastic parts that meet quality and production standards. The operator ensures that machines are running efficiently, performs basic troubleshooting, and maintains a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:
- Operate injection moulding machines to produce parts as per specifications.
- Set process parameters like temperature, pressure, and cycle time to ensure optimal production.
- Perform mould changes and set-ups as required.
Production Monitoring:
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent quality and performance.
- Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Adjust settings or report issues to supervisors as needed.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
- Identify and resolve minor machine malfunctions or quality issues.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubrication, and filter changes.
- Report major maintenance needs to the maintenance team promptly.
Material Handling:
- Load raw materials (e.g., plastic resins, additives) into the machine hopper.
- Monitor material levels and replenish as needed to avoid production downtime.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct visual and dimensional checks on produced parts using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Document quality checks and production data accurately.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures while working with machines and equipment.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents.
Production Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production, material usage, and downtime.
- Log machine settings and process parameters for reference.
Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on operational standards.

Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of injection moulding machine operations and process parameters.
- Familiarity with different types of plastic materials and their properties.
