The Mine Geologist will assist with the underground drilling program, core logging as well as underground face mapping and sampling.
This position is for a geologist with 1-3 years’ experience, however all training will be provided and graduates are encouraged to apply. There is scope to be involved in surveying, geotechnical, engineering, mine planning and exploration in the future.
Company accommodation is available for non-residential staff. Salary is based on experience and can be discussed on the phone and at the interview.
Key Responsibilities
• Work in a professional manner to best operational and health and safety practices;
• Working with the underground diamond drill rigs to set up holes and check core;
• Preparing, logging, sampling, cutting, and storage of drill core and underground mine samples;
• Assisting the geology team with underground geological mapping;
• Generating underground face maps and collecting ore control face samples;
• Density sampling of core and channel samples;
• Data entry of drill core data, face maps, and underground samples;
• Collating and analysing geological data and producing reports;
• Assisting the geology team with database management and grade control block model updates;
• Supporting the Cupper Gold site team for adhoc tasks as and when required.
