We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Truck Dispatcher to coordinate freight dispatching for carriers. He will work closely with owner-operators and trucking companies to secure profitable loads, optimize routes, and ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple carriers effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Find and book high-paying loads for carriers using load boards and direct broker relationships.
- Assign loads to drivers based on availability, route efficiency, and carrier preferences.
- Negotiate freight rates with brokers and shippers to maximize profitability for carriers.
- Provide real-time updates to drivers on load details, pickup/delivery times, and route changes.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any delays or issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers, shippers, and carriers for consistent load opportunities.
- Handle all necessary paperwork, including rate confirmations, BOLs, and dispatch agreements.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, carrier requirements, and industry standards.
- Offer support to drivers regarding trip planning, road conditions, and any challenges they face.
- Use dispatch software, GPS tracking tools, and load boards like DAT, Truckstop, and others.
